Big Quan Theory - Episode 5: Anthem Apology and What to do in Big D?

Hey guys, the next episode of The Big Quan Theory is finally here. My last show was October 7 so it has been awhile only because the week following (Oct. 14) was when I was supposed to do my show but it was Fall Break and then last week I was out of town because of Cross Country. Anyway, you can enjoy the next episode as I took on topics such as Philadelphia 76ers apologizing to Sevyn Streeter for not allowing her to sing the national anthem, Kevin Durant criticizing himself, Dallas Cowboys QB Carousel. Hope you guys enjoy and thanks for all the support!

Big Quan's Question: Week 2

Hey everyone, I promised you guys that I'd upload the second Question of the Week, now known as "Big Quan's Question". This question pertains to Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski and on getting his next touchdown (his 69th touchdown). I'm sure you know where I'm coming from but you can judge it for yourself. I have been receiving more responses from the audience so I'm glad that I have the chance to share this with you and that other people have enjoyed it. Without further ado, here you go:

Post Engagement: Updated 10-26-16

So, two weeks have gone by since I've last updated the reception of how my blog has been going. A lot has happened because I did my last show on Friday, October 7 but I had to break up the schedule because the next week was Fall Break (so I went home) and then last week, I was in Hawaii because of Cross Country and that was incredible but it caused me to postpone my next show until this week. I have been lacking a little bit on my social media and that is because I have started a new segment called "Big Quan's Question". I have already talked about this before but I have now done this for 2 straight weeks because I wanted to have more interactions with my audience and so far, I have gotten that reception. People have been engaging in the content by liking and commenting on those post that I will share later down the road because I don't want to jinx anything. Anyway, now that I'll have more time since I'll be here, things should be picking up again but I am happy to share with you my recent posts reception.

New Segment: Question of the Week with Big Quan

Hey everybody, I want to introduce a new segment that I'll be doing weekly called "Question of the Week with Big Quan". It is a 1-2 minute wrap up of the biggest stories from the weekend and your chance to participate by commenting and discussing these issues. Also if you guys could comment an answer, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Midterm Analysis

We have made it halfway through the semester and I wanted to update everybody about how things have been going so far now that we’ve reached midterms. I decided to do a podcast on sports (which I want to be a sports broadcaster) and the biggest controversial situations going on in the sporting industry. I was nervous about doing a solo podcast because it is hard to be entertaining and basically have a conversation with yourself for about half an hour. In the past, I did a sports show with another person and that was good because you could bounce off their ideas and add some interesting conversations out of it. Doing it alone certainly has its challenges but I was up to the task and I think I’ve improved the show as each episode has been released.

I created a Facebook and Twitter page to use for my social media campaign and cross promoted both of them to have people be active on both pages. The name of my show is The Big Quan Theory and the reason behind that name is that I am in the radio program and my DJ name is Big Quan and my friend gave me the idea of the name “Big Quan Theory” and I thought it was catchy especially because of the “Big Bang Theory” and so mixing my name within that adds some flare. So my Facebook and Twitter followed the same names. The things I posted on those sites was links to controversial stories that have happened in either the NFL, MLB, NBA, etc. and the biggest story going on at the time was the NFL National Anthem protest which is still seen today. It was the biggest story at the time and so I spent a couple of weeks on it before it started to die down.
My first podcast episode was on September 2, 2016. The main subjects of that episode was Kaepernick’s Oppression (which had to do with the anthem protest) and Rob Ninkovich’s suspension (Linebacker for the New England Patriots). I thought for the most part my show was good and I was receiving feedback that they loved to hear me talk about sports but when I listened to it, I thought I sounded kind of nervous. It was my first time all alone straight talking about 30 minutes so it was a new experience for me. I created an intro and outro for the show as well and I love to have fun when I record things so I did a little rapping to introduce the show and close the show to add some entertainment to the solo-man show. The intro of the show went like this:
Welcome to the Big Quan Theory
Welcome to the Big Quan Theory
I couldn’t hear at all so I thought I was deaf but it turns out my mic wasn’t on, now you he-hear me…
And then it leads into the beginning of the show but I feel pumped up once I hear the intro and it propels me and my energy to bring to the show. Now my outro rhymes as well and this one goes:
Now you’re leaving the Big Quan Theory
And you gotta know I’ll miss you dearly
At this point in time, I wanna weep
But don’t worry, I’ll be back in 2 weeks.
I have now down 4 episodes and one interview with my Cross Country teammate Tyler Bird which I asked him about cross country and also he thoughts about all the anthem controversy going on and also his opinions about players when they act out and how does he view them. It you want to listen to that then you can, it’s Episode 3 of The Big Quan Theory and is posted on my blog so check it out.

I am excited to see how I can improve the show and actually started a new segment called “Question of the week with Big Quan” which I will be uploading soon so stayed tuned. I will have more information about that segment when it actually makes its debut. My next show was supposed to be this Friday, October 21 but I will be out of town due to having a Cross Country meet in Hawaii. I will have to postpone the show until next Friday, October 28, 2016. I will have some good content plus another interview so I’m stoked to share these with you. This is where I am at right now and trying to get better daily. This has been such a fun experiment and I am looking forward to what the future holds.
